REQUESTED MOTION:

To authorize the submittal of an application for funding through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs administered by the Florida Department of Emergency Management for a generator at the Turner Center.

 

SUMMARY:

The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM), through FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), provides funding for mitigation projects to protect critical public facilities, including generators, subject to cost-effectiveness, technical feasibility, and relevance to county Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) priorities

 

BACKGROUND:

Generators for critical facilities like Turner Center are specifically eligible under HMGP when cost-effective.  A draft application is attached.
