REQUESTED MOTION:
To approve the Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance plans as presented.
SUMMARY:
The Insurance Committee has formally voted to recommend Board approval of the following insurance plans for fiscal year 2026-2027: Florida Blue Medical Plan Option 05770; Florida Combined Life Dental; EyeMed Vision; USAble Life & AD&D and Voluntary Life; CuraLinc Employee Assistance Program; and Health Equity for the Flexible Spending Account Program.
BACKGROUND:
Florida Blue initially came in at a 22% increase. Loss ratio was 91.26%. Brown & Brown was able to negotiate with Florida Blue to agree to a no-shop 9.5% increase with a $50,000 wellness fund. Florida Combined Life Dental initially came in with a 9% increase. Loss ratio was 98%. Brown & Brown negotiated with Florida Combined Life Dental to agree to a 6% renewal increase. EyeMed Vision is in rate guarantee until 2027; USAble Life & AD&D and CuraLinc EAP is in rate guarantee until 2028.
