State Financial Assistance Agreement/DeSoto County Jail Project

REQUESTED MOTION:
To approve the State Financial Assistance Agreement for fixed capital outlay pertaining to the DeSoto County Jail project.
SUMMARY:
Funds will be used to acquire property for the construction of a future County jail and Sheriff's Administrative Complex. Funds were awarded through the Legislative Appropriation process for the current State fiscal year July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027.
BACKGROUND:
Property acquisition is the first step in making future design decisions for the eventual replacement of the County Jail. This step followed a previous legislative funded project from started in 2024 under award TJ001, which funded contractual services to develop the conceptual design and cost estimate for replacing the jail and administrative complex in Desoto County. Phase one of this project concluded in 2026.
