Preserve Utility Easement - Preserve Phase 3

body

REQUESTED MOTION:

Motion to accept the Utility Easement for the Preserve Phase 3 Project, and authorize recording of same

SUMMARY:

The Preserve (formerly known as Sonoma Preserve) is nearing completion of the construction of their Phase 3 project. The project includes water and sewer utilities within the private property which will be owned and maintained by Desoto County. The proposed easement grants access to Desoto County to maintain these facilities.

BACKGROUND:

The Preserve Phase 3 project has an onsite water system compromised of water mains, service laterals and meters.  The onsite sewer system is comprised of gravity mains, service laterals, a master lift station and a force main.  Both systems connect water and sewer mains within the previously accepted Phase 1 and 2 project limits.  These systems were installed by the developer’s contractor.  The County has previously committed to owning and maintaining these systems.  The County has had representatives witness required tests and has received acceptable as-built drawings including all components to be owned and maintained by the County.  The County will also sign off on FDEP clearance documents, and the system will be ready for use as soon as it is approved.  The easement will be recorded with the Desoto County Clerk of Court.
