REQUESTED MOTION:
To approve the Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Application and Resolution.
SUMMARY:
Funds are used to reimburse 50% of all law enforcement vests purchased by the Sheriff’s Office.
BACKGROUND:
Every single year the U.S. Office of Justice and the U.S. Department of Justice partner with law enforcement agencies to cover a portion of all law enforcement officer’s primary vest.
This year is no different, the Sherif’s Office will be requesting $6,064.00 in funding to help facilitate the purchase of the new vests. The vests will be for new officers and/or replacement vests for existing officers once theirs expire. Our vest policy as well as grant qualifications require every officer to wear a vest
