REQUESTED MOTION:
Motion to conclude the sufficiency of bond for District 3 County Commissioner and Elected Officials is adequate as presented.

SUMMARY:
The Public Official Bond for County Commissioner Judith Schaefer expired November 15, 2024. She has been re-elected to hold this office for a term beginning November 15, 2024 and ending November 15, 2028. The bond for the Clerk of Court is a continuation and the official is to hold this office for a term beginning January 2, 2025 and ending January 2, 2029. The official for the Property Appraiser has been re-elected and there are newly elected officials for Supervisor of Elections and Tax Collector. All officials are to hold their office for a term beginning January 6, 2025 and ending January 6, 2029. County Commissioner and elected officials are to hold this office for the elected term until his/her successor is qualified according to the Constitution and Laws of the State of Florida. All bonds are secured with Hartford Insurance Company through DeSoto Moulton, LLC.

BACKGROUND:
Florida Statute 137.04 requires each County Commissioner, whether elected or appointed to such office, give a bond conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his or her office. In accordance with Florida Statute 137.01, each Board of County Commissioners may by ordinance require any county officer to give bond, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his or her office. The amount of the bond and the bond must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
