Divisions 2 and 3 of Article X “Boards and Agencies,” of Chapter 20 of the DeSoto County Land Development Regulations (LDR) establish provisions regarding the Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustment. The Planning Commission shall consist of five members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, each for a term of four years; one non-voting member appointed by the DeSoto County School Board, and two alternate members to the Planning Commission that serve in the absence of any member or members of the Planning Commission, each for a term of two years.

The Planning Commission and Board of adjustment has one (1) vacancy for an alternate member. Nathan Headrick (Minister) has submitted his resume and letter of interest for consideration. Nathan Headrick will serve as an alternate member beginning with the Board’s appointment on August 25, 2026, and expiring on August 25, 2028.
