Motion to approve the purchase of a Bobcat skid steer and Authorize the County Administrator to issue the Purchase Order.
SUMMARY:
Purchase of T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader (Skid Steer)
BACKGROUND:
The Skid Steer is utilized for a wide range of projects throughout the County, including erosion control, material loading and unloading, and shoulder, ditch, and driveway repairs. It serves as the primary piece of equipment for work performed in confined or smaller areas where larger loaders cannot operate effectively. The Skid Steer is also equipped with a flail mower attachment to access locations that are not reachable by tractors, and it is used for emergency roadway cleanup with the interchangeable broom attachment.
This purchase is being made under the existing Sourcewell Bid Contract with Clark Equipment Company dba Bobcat Company, Contract #020223-CEC for “medium-duty construction equipment,” effective from April 6, 2023, through April 17, 2028. Sourcewell is a State of Minnesota local government unit and service cooperative (Minnesota Statutes Section 123A.21) that provides cooperative procurement solutions to government entities. Participation is open to eligible federal, state/provincial, and municipal governments; higher education institutions; K-12 school systems; nonprofit organizations; tribal governments; and other public entities in the United States and Canada.
