SUMMARY:
We would like to publicly acknowledge the well over 5200 hours of dedicated work our volunteers have invested in the library in this past fiscal year. Their commitment plays a vital role in supporting daily operation, assisting patrons with technology and services, and helping staff deliver a wide range of programs to the community. Through their generosity of time, our volunteers allow us to expand the library’s ability to serve the residents of DeSoto County.
BACKGROUND:
Our 25 library volunteers provide essential support that strengthen our services to the community. They assist with book processing, development and preparation of library programs, and help operate and maintain our All Faiths Food Pantry. Collectively, the level of service they provide is equivalent to almost three employees. Their dedication not only enhances daily operations but increases the library’s capacity to meet community needs without additional financial impact.
