To approve the revised Department Director Employment Agreement.
SUMMARY:
To amend only the County's standard form Department Director Employment Agreement in order to update and clarify its provisions, while continuing the County's existing policy that Department Directors serve as at-will employees under the direction of the County Administrator.
BACKGROUND:
DeSoto Board of County Commissioners adopted a Department and Division Director Employment Policy together with a standard form Department Director Employment Agreement governing the terms and conditions of employment for Department Directors and Division Directors. Department Directors are appointed by the County Administrator, subject to confirmation and approval by the Board of County Commissioners in accordance with section 125.74, Florida Statutes.
