Apex Work Authorization 26/27-01- General Engineering Services
BACKGROUND:
Apex Corporation serves as DeSoto County’s Engineer of Record under a continuing services contract. The contract requires work exceeding $25,000 to be authorized through a separate Work Authorization.
General ongoing engineering services are billed monthly and include routine engineering support, weekly representation at County offices, coordination, meetings, telephone calls, and other general engineering tasks.
The Fiscal Year 2026/27 budget includes $135,000 for general engineering services. Based on current projections, staff anticipates $100,000 should be sufficient to cover general engineering activities for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2026. The remaining $35,000 budgeted for general engineering services will be used only if needed based on Engineering needs.
Project-specific work authorizations totaling $25,000 will be presented separately for Board consideration and approval as needed.
