REQUESTED MOTION:
Approve the Professional Services Agreement with The Weiler Engineering Corporation for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Services for Phase 1 of the DeSoto County Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion.
SUMMARY:
Staff is recommending approval of the Professional Services Agreement with The Weiler Engineering Corporation to provide CEI Services for Phase 1 of the DeSoto County Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion.
BACKGROUND:
On October 7, 2025, the County issued a Request for Qualifications for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Services for Phase 1 Construction of the DeSoto County Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion. The County received three (3) proposals from qualified firms. A Selection Committee evaluated and ranked the firms, and The Weiler Engineering Corporation was ranked highest and recommended for award.
Negotiations were conducted with The Weiler Engineering Corporation and were successful. The negotiated total contract amount is $975,600.00, which includes preconstruction services, CEI services for the construction duration, construction closeout, and additional CEI time, if required.
As part of the overall project coordination and to maintain Engineer of Record responsibilities during construction, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., the Design Engineer for the Phase 1 improvements, will provide limited post-design services under a separate agreement.
