BACKGROUND:
Staff is requesting Board approval to utilize a cooperative piggyback purchasing agreement with CAP Government through the City of Palm Bay's existing contract for outsourced inspection services on an as-needed basis.
Due to the current vacancy in the Public Safety Department's Fire Inspector position, staff recommends utilizing CAP Government to provide temporary fire inspection services until the position can be filled with a full-time employee. Recruitment efforts are currently underway to fill the vacancy.
Once the permanent Fire Inspector is hired, staff recommends retaining CAP Government as an on-call resource to provide fire inspection and building inspection services on an as-needed basis to assist with staffing needs, workload fluctuations, or future vacancies.
