REQUESTED MOTION:
To approve the 2026/2027 Small County Waste Grant Agreement as presented.
SUMMARY:
The Small County Waste Grant Agreement is the second step of many to qualify for State reimbursement funding for Landfill equipment. The Small Waste Grant Agreement approval is vital to move forward with payment requests and reimbursement to recoup leased equipment costs.
BACKGROUND:
The DeSoto County Landfill leases one (1) piece of equipment from Caterpillar Financial Corporation and one (1) piece of equipment from Santander Leasing, LLC. The State of Florida Environmental Protection will reimburse up to $93,750.00 of costs paid for necessary Landfill equipment. This State funding has been utilized for several years to assist DeSoto County with equipment costs.
