REQUESTED MOTION:
A motion to enter into the record the staff report and all other competent substantial evidence introduced at the hearing and make a recommendation to adopt/deny the Resolution with conditions for the special exception.
SUMMARY:
The applicant has applied for a Special Exception use application (USE-0211-2025) to allow an industrial use in the Rural/Agricultural future land use designation as required by Policy 1.3.4 of the Future Land Use Element on two parcels totaling +/- 10.22 acres located in central DeSoto County, north of SW Highway 72 and east of SW Eucalyptus Ave. The subject properties are part of a larger ownership including parcel 06-38-24-0000-0082-0000 at 6018 SW Highway 72, adjacent to the south, zoned IL, and currently developed with an industrial manufacturing use, Crown Roof Tiles. This application is being brought concurrently with a rezoning of the subject parcels from Residential Mixed (RM) to Industrial Light (IL). The property is located in the Rural/Agricultural Future Land Use Category.
