To approve 2026/2027 Annual Certified Budget for Mosquito Control
SUMMARY:
The county receives funding from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) and is required to have a 25% match. The current numbers consist of $69,587.50 from FDACS, with a 25% match from the county of $17,396.88.
BACKGROUND:
DeSoto County receives funding from FDACS to assist with operating a Mosquito Control program and providing services to the county. The county is required to provide a 25% match to the funding received by FDACS. These above dollar amounts are subject to change based on FDACS budget approval and if needed an Arthropod Control Budget Amendment would be brought forward noting the change and for approval
