Motion to approve an extension of the Piggyback Agreement with Okeechobee County and Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management, Inc.
SUMMARY:
Staff is requesting approval to continue to utilize an existing Agreement between Okeechobee County and Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management, Inc. for mosquito control services for FY 2026
BACKGROUND:
On December 18, 2017, Okeechobee County issued a Request for Proposals to award an Agreement for Mosquito Control Services. This Agreement was awarded to Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management, Inc. on April 26, 2018, and is in effect until December 31, 2024, and automatically renews for additional one (1) year terms, unless either party provides the other party with ninety (90) days written notice. On
November 18, 2025, Okeechobee County and Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management Inc. signed an agreement for their 4th renewal. The Agreement grants permission for use by other Governments under Section 4.5. The Emergency Management Department wishes to utilize this year’s Agreement for these services under the provisions of this Agreement with the pricing set forth by Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management, Inc. for DeSoto County.
