To declare May 3-9, 2026 National Tourism Week
SUMMARY:
This year the U.S. Travel Association chose May 3-9, 2026 to highlight the contributions of tourism to the overall economy.
BACKGROUND:
Tourism is Florida’s number one industry and directly generates more than $5 million in overnight stays in DeSoto County. Tourism provides jobs and attracts spending from outside the County, enhancing the overall quality of life here.
