REQUESTED MOTION:

To approve the revised Classification & Pay Plan as presented.

 

SUMMARY:

The Classification and Pay Plan has been revised to reflect recent changes within the Parks & Recreation Department. With the retirement of an employee as Parks Maintenance Technician IV, the Department Director recommends eliminating this position and replacing it with a Parks Maintenance Technician II position. This adjustment will better align staffing levels with the operational needs and goals of the department. Given the department’s relatively small size, maintaining three supervisory-level Tech-IV positions is not suitable. Under the proposed revision, the department will retain two Tech-IV positions while adding a Tech-II position to support overall functionality and efficiency. Additionally, this change will result in a reduction to the department’s overall personnel budget due to the lower pay grade associated with the Tech-II.
