REQUESTED MOTION:
To approve the 2025/2026 Mosquito Control Budget Amendment as Described
SUMMARY:
This request is to amend the 2025/2026 Annual Certified Budget for Mosquito Control as required by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). Certain state and local funds were not able to be used for their intended purposes; these funds will not be spent for their intended purpose prior to the end of the fiscal year and need to be amended so they are useable and conform to FDACS requirements. A total of $2380.25 from state funds will be decreased from Travel and Per Diem, Misc. Supplies, Training, and moved to Operating Expenses. A total of $626.75 in local funds will be removed from Travel and Per Diem, Misc. Supplies, and Training to Operating Expenses. By approving this amendment and moving these funds to Operating Expense, it will allow the Mosquito Control program to expend these funds for the betterment of the community.
BACKGROUND:
As required by FDACS, an amendment needs to be approved and signed by the Board to increase/decrease/move funds between line items in the FDACS Annual Certified Budget. These funds will not be able to be expended for their original intended purposes prior to the end of the fiscal year. Once approved, this will be provided to FDACS per their requirements.
