REQUESTED MOTION:
To approve the revised Public Official Bond term date for the County Commissioner of District 1 and 5.
SUMMARY:
The current bond date for County Commissioner Jerod Gross and Steven Hickox has been revised to align with their election term. To ensure continuous compliance and coverage, a revised bond has been issued to cover the remaining portion of their current terms from 2026 through 2028.
BACKGROUND:
Both officials were elected in 2022 to complete the unexpired terms of their predecessors, which were approximately two years in length. As such, the original bond coverage would have been expected to expire in 2024, aligning with the end of those shortened terms. However, both commissioners were subsequently elected to full four-year terms extending through 2028.
