REQUESTED MOTION:
Motion to adopt a Resolution and Agreement acknowledging and accepting the F.D.O.T LAP Agreement for FP# 453195-1-G8-01 for reimbursement of emergency repairs on C.R. 661.
SUMMARY:
Staff is requesting acknowledgment and acceptance of the F.D.O.T. LAP Agreement FP# 453195-1-G8-01 for reimbursement of emergency repairs on the C.R. 661 bridge.
BACKGROUND:
During Hurricane Ian, erosion of the rip rap sand and cement bag slope stabilization and undermining of the approach slab occurred at Bridge 040044 C.R. 661 over Bunker Creek. The County performed an emergency repair in June of 2023. The emergency repair work is eligible for full reimbursement through FDOT under the Local Agency Program (LAP). Due to the emergency nature of this project, the LAP agreement was not in place prior to the construction. Once the Agreement is approved by DeSoto County and FDOT, the County will be able to seek reimbursement in the amount of $70,370.00. The permanent repairs are currently under design and are anticipated to occur sometime after July 1, 2024, subject to permit approvals.
