REQUESTED MOTION:
Motion for the approval of a Contract Amendment extending the Contract for another year with Myakka Heating & Cooling for HVAC Maintenance and Repair Services.
SUMMARY:
Staff is requesting approval of a Contract Amendment with D&D Mechanical Services dba Myakka Heating & Cooling for HVAC Maintenance and Repair Services extending the Contract for an additional one (1) year term.
BACKGROUND:
On May 5, 2020, the County awarded a Contract to D&D Mechanical Services dba Myakka Heating & Cooling to provide HVAC Maintenance and Repair Services throughout the County. This Contract states a Time of Performance of an initial two (2) year term with the option to extend for three (3) additional one (1) year terms of which the County has previously utilized two (2) of the three (3) annual extensions. The Contractor has requested an additional 5% mark-up for parts and materials $0.01-$500.00 and an additional 7% mark-up for parts and materials $500.00 and up. The Contractor has also requested an additional $10.00 per hour for the Contractor's labor rates for both regular and after hours labor, and an additional $10.00 per hour for the General Laborer's rates for both regular and after hours labor, see Exhibit "A". Both the County and Contractor desire to utilize the third and final one (1) year renewal, including the requested price increases, extending this Contract to May 5, 2025.
