SUMMARY:
Presentation and update on the DeSoto County Vulnerability Assessment. Work is being performed by teh Central Florida Regional Planning Council.
BACKGROUND:
DeSoto County applied for and was awarded a $200,000 grant through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Resilient Florida Program, to complete a comprehensive Vulnerability assessment pursuant to Section 3803093, Florida Statutes. The grant agreement was executed in June of 2023. The County contracted with the Central Florida Regional Planning Council to complete the work in accordance with state statute for the County, including in incorporated limits of the City of Arcadia. The Program requires 6 distinct tasks with a project due date of March 31, 2025.
