Vulnerability Assessment - Addendum to CFRPC DeSoto Interlocal Agreement

REQUESTED MOTION:
To amend the Interlocal Agreement between the Central Florida Regional Planning Council (CFPRC) and DeSoto county to update deliverable due dates for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant to conduct a county-wide vulnerability assessment.
SUMMARY:
The amendment to the Interlocal Agreement addresses “Target Deliverable Dates” with the exception of the final deliverable date of March 31, 2025. The “Target Deliverable Dates” are approximate dates and may change slightly based on circumstances such as data collection, public engagement, and additional flood model runs and analyses. This amendment is consistent with the County’s grant agreement with FDEP which requires all deliverables to be complete by March 31, 2025.
BACKGROUND:
DeSoto County has been awarded a State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Grant Agreement (Agreement #23PLN109) to conduct a Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment pursuant to Section 380.093, Florida Statutes. The Vulnerability Assessment includes coordination with and analysis of the City of Arcadia. The County is working with the Central Florida Regional Planning Council (CFRPC) to complete the Grant Work Plan. An Interlocal Agreement between the CFRPC and the County was approved by the DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners on January 9, 2024.
